Chocolate Cherries

Updated: Jul 30

Chocolate Cherries reaches back further than almost anything else we run. Chocolate Thai — one of the fabled strains of the 1970s — crossed to Cherry Pie. Old-school cocoa meeting modern cherry, and both showing up.

The heritage

Chocolate Thai is nearly extinct in its original form; the slow-flowering landrace was largely abandoned when the industry chased faster turns. Working with its genetics is a preservation act as much as a flavor choice. Cherry Pie (Durban Poison × GDP) modernizes the structure without paving over the cocoa.

In the jar

Dark and sweet — ripe cherry with a tart edge riding over cocoa and earth. It's a dusk-colored profile: low, warm notes rather than bright ones. Beautiful at low temperature where the chocolate lingers on the exhale.

How it runs

Balanced hybrid, contemplative pace. Music-and-conversation weed with enough spine to carry an evening.

Formats

Badder and carts. The cart version is a sleeper — chocolate terps translate shockingly well to a slow cartridge pull.

Where to find it

We're found in dispensaries statewide across California. Find Chocolate Cherries near you or read up on the rest of the archive. Similar lane worth exploring: Authentic OG.
